Molten is a luxury glassware business founded by sisters Laura and Emily Smith.
I designed their e-commerce website to showcase and sell their beautiful handmade products.

I held a user journey workshop with the clients to better understand their customers and what they would need from the site. From the workshop and competitor analysis, I noted the importance of building the user’s trust with a new luxury brand. I created a sitemap that included a section on the homepage to tell the story of the brand. This allowed the user to learn more about the artisanal process behind the products and why they are sold at high-end prices.
One of the user personas we identified was a person with an interest in interior design and styling. With this in mind, I designed a “Shop Our Instagram” section which pulled the lifestyle photography through from Molten’s curated social posts. This meant the customer could easily select the products featured.
I wireframed the entire website to check the different customer journeys and to make sure there were no pain points. I took advantage of the limited product range and created a section to show the inspiration, materials and design process of the pieces.
To show off the product’s beautiful details I used full bleed imagery and lots of space to increase the luxurious feel.
